Comments

What did you like most about this instructor and course?

  1. I felt like a valued member of the class! Everyone got a chance to voice opinions and discuss them.
  2. The way he teaches keeps your attention and is very informative. I enjoyed the diverse projects.
  3. Expectations were always extremely clear, all assignments made sense as part of a whole, I learned a lot and felt you were very approachable.
  4. P1 and final prompts.
  5. Discussion is student driven.
  6. The interesting and diverse scope of projects that we've done.
  7. All the projects require you to demonstrate your knowledge of the material we covered.
  8. Very accessible. Willing to work with students. Concrete objectives to work towards.
  9. The innovative teaching style, the really really innovative topics, and the novel approach to them.
  10. The "new-school" things he teaches are grounded in logic and tradition. The "old-school" things he teaches are set in the context of contemporary forms.
  11. Very knowledgeable about English. Very friendly and helpful. I really liked the feedback we got on assignments--detailed, constructive.

What did you dislike most about this instructor and course?

  1. Completely honestly, nothing.
  2. ---
  3. I still feel that I was not able to participate in class as much as I would have liked.
  4. Relativity to major.
  5. ---
  6. The instructor was great. The course was good as well with the minor exception of the short papers. It just seemed like busy work.
  7. NOTHING!!!
  8. NA
  9. The cop-out art projects. Websites like Pixton and tryptech were a bit silly. Since they are so limiting and unintuitive.
  10. ---
  11. Sometimes instructions are unclear or contrast w/ something stated in the syllabus.

What constructive suggestions do you have for this instructor or course?

  1. ---
  2. I think some of the projects could be broken down into pieces to make them more managable.
  3. Do more to encourage student participation (i.e., call on specific students).
  4. ---
  5. Lay out objectives of course more clearly--this is what we are doing and why.
  6. ---
  7. I really liked everything about this course and thought it was a fair amount of work.
  8. Make a smaller, practice Ignite presentation to help reduce pressure on the final project. Wonderful class and professor!
  9. If there was a way to get REAL art software made available. Perhaps by getting Photoshop through the library or something. I realise that you have little choices, but it would be nice to use REAL art stuff rather than this poor free software.
  10. ---
  11. Modify the final essay--I'm not sure it will be useful for me as a teacher or otherwise.riting). -DM

Additional Comments

  1. I absolutely enjoyed this course. I was shown many kinds of technology I'd never been exposed to, and, most importantly, I felt challenged but never stressed. I gained knowledge but was never bored. Keep up the good work!
  2. ---
  3. He needs to make expectations clearer. Many times during the semester he was very unprofessional and disrespectful. Very disappointing but worst teacher I have had at Eastern by far.
  4. The instructor needs to understand or learn that not all students are not familiar with everything he expects us to know like Twitter and all the technology assignments he hands out.
