Comments

What did you like most about this instructor and course?

  1. He's very clear and to the point. He treats everyone pretty much the same.
  2. The relaxed atmosphere.
  3. The smaller classrooms make for a more easier learning environment.
  4. Derek was very aware of the needs of our class and was always willing to help.
  5. Very innovative and engaging projects, interesting & diverse reading, quality discussion (well facilitated).
  6. His overall knowledge and passion on the subject.
  7. He's nice and extremely helpful when students need it.
  8. How genuinely caring he is.
  9. It wasn't boring or uninteresting, we were always learning new things.
  10. Our instructor communicated well with students and was able to understand our opinions and points of view.
  11. The course was completely different than what I expected (in a good way). Derek was extremely helpful, fair and available.
  12. This was an innovative course taught with knowledge and enthusiasm.
  13. I liked the projects that we had to do. Project 1 Remake was probably my favorite.
  14. I like the assignments. They're creative. I also like that their is a lot of discussion & general involvement, & not an autocratic divine-right professor.
  15. The instructor was very prepared for class and always gave examples of what he wanted in our assignments.

What did you dislike most about this instructor and course?

  1. As a person who did not grow up with technology I wish I had more time to spend on projects.
  2. Majority of the course is directed toward education majors.
  3. Scared to try anything new due to new hire.
  4. Tends to be specific in lectures.
  5. The course projects could have been better maybe more examples for certain projects.
  6. There isn't a 400-level equivalent.
  7. Nothing.
  8. He's kind of awkward sometimes when students ask questions out of the class room.
  9. Sometimes he uses too many words to explain simple things.
  10. Certain reading assignments.
  11. The readings were not my favorite but that is expected and unavoidable.
  12. Long-ass readings, but that's college...
  13. Probably the tangents. The Prof. would explain something for 5 mins when one just required a 30 sec. explanation.
  14. eh the class was so close to perfect I wouldn't...
  15. Overall I really enjoyed this class, but each project we were given was very similar.

What constructive suggestions do you have for this instructor or course?

  1. Make projects more fun!
  2. Keep on keeping on.
  3. Get more confidence.
  4. When you type up our assignments, make sure to keep it simple and less wordy.
  5. I think in class discussions could be more focused.
  6. ---
  7. Maybe more reader oriented questions.
  8. Ignore the haters; they suck.
  9. Kiss it. Keep it simple sweet.
  10. ...really tamper with it. Just keep on rockin', Mueller.
